Take the ferry, Sam, from Klaksvík to Syðradalur. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Syðradalur, start walking uphill. After hiking up to Slættafjall, you can walk down to Knútsdalur. You do not need to bring a car for this hike.

(The valley is called Knútsdalur, named after one Knút, who was caretaker for Thrand in Gøtu, chieftain of the Northern Isles, including Kalsoy. Knút was allowed to put his sheep to pasture in this valley, hence the name.)

Pól Sundskarð

Pól is born in 1957 and grew up in Klaksvík, Faroe Islands. As a youth Pól already showed his skills as a proven sportsman in many different categories. The interest in the extreme sport started at a relatively late level in his life. In 2015 Pól ran 526 km in 5 days, and the same year he and his wife Bjørg, as the first couple in the Faroes, climbed all 340 Faroese mountains.
