Lake Leitisvatn is the largest lake in the Faroe Islands. The lake has also been named “the lake over the ocean” as the view from Trælanípan from an a particular angle creates an optical illusion, which appears to look as though the lake is hovering directly above the ocean.
At the end of the lake is the impressive Bøsdalafossur waterfall. Bøsdalafossur is a 30m high waterfall flowing directly into the Atlantic Ocean.
Alongside otherworldly shorelines, you will also see the beautiful free standing sea stack Geituskoradrangur.
